Jonathan & Tom Scott

Brothers Jonathan and Tom perform in instrumental combinations which cover the entire keyboard spectrum including Piano Duet, Piano & Organ, and Harmonium & Piano.

Born in Manchester, Jonathan and Tom both studied at Chetham’s School of Music and at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). Recent and forthcoming performances include concerts across the UK, as well as Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Norway, Taiwan and an invitation to tour China and South Korea.

Tom read Music on the joint course at The University of Manchester, gained the Sir Thomas Beecham Medal for Excellence in his degree, and achieved a distinction in his Masters degree. He made his concerto debut with the Hallé Orchestra, aged 17, with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.1 at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. Tom is also an artist and animator, and his animations are regularly performed alongside orchestras and ensembles world-wide. He completed his PhD in electroacoustic composition at The University of Manchester (supported by AHRC funding) and currently lectures in electroacoustic composition at the RNCM.

Jonathan's recent performances have included numerous solo recitals as pianist and organist as well as solo appearances at the BBC proms, mid-Atlantic performances on Queen Mary 2 and a live recording of Copland’s Organ Symphony with BBC Philharmonic and John Wilson for Chandos Records.

This season, Jonathan has performed as soloist with the BBC Philharmonic, Hallé Orchestra, Orchestra of Opera North, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic, as well as solo broadcasts on BBC Radio 2, 3 and ClassicFM. In February 2017, Jonathan gave the world première of the new organ concerto 6000 Pipes! by Karl Jenkins (with Hull Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2017 Hull City of Culture) and he will perform this again in a nationwide tour in 2019.

Scott Brothers Duo have released several recordings on their own label to great critical acclaim and the discs have received wide international airplay, including their own special editions of BBC Radio 2’s The Organist Entertains. Their recent duo concert at Montserrat Abbey, Spain was broadcast live on Spanish TV and their online performance videos have totalled over 6 million views.
